game suddenlly ends and goes to desktop

Postby frisell » Mon Nov 17, 2003 1:19 pm

I was just playing a bob mission (cold war) when having landed the chipmonk and picking up the downed pilot, the game crashed out to the desktop a few seconds after taking-off to head home. Has this ever happened to anybody else? What causes this? How do I fix it?
 Thanks

Hi frisell. I never tried this particular mission. My first thought is that either there's a bug in the mission itself or you're missing one of the elements.

I should specify that it's the 'just flight' bob memorial flight expansion for CFS 2.

I also have had the terminal problem of cfs2 going to desktop in Me. No amount of tech help from M$ has been able to help. After trying for a year and a half I converted to XP. Still no go. My system: HP 1.3 Ghz, 768 RAM. I give up.

Just Flight are a reputable company & their addons should work out of the box, unless they released a patch for a known issue. I've heard nothing but good reports of their products. If you have problems I suggest contacting their Product Support.

This problem is definitely nothing to do with the OS. It's more likely something in your particular system. I've used CFS2 with WinMe since it was first released. It's always run perfectly. The same goes for my Fox Four colleagues who all use WinXP. I believe there was a known issue with one of the XP updates.
