CFS4

General discussion for CFS2 - WW 2 Pacific Theater

CFS4

Postby james007 » Wed Oct 08, 2003 10:47 pm

I would like to know what most memeber will like to see in CFS4. I now what I want to see in the next edition . I would like to it to Finish the Pacific War since most Simulators are dedicated to the Eurapean Theater war. Its time for a change.Maybe the Mediterreanian Theater would also be nice. An improvement on AI and better sound effects would improve the quality of the game Series.A quality M.B. in similar format as in CFS2.A Improvement in the communication capability with your Squadron members and others and perhaps to change from one plane to another in your Squadron.I hope to hear from thew other members. Thankyou

Air combat has been a blast with guns, but maybe its time to enter the "jet age" and give us sim pilots some guided missiles and a targeting systems to fight with.
Although I would like to see a "Battle for Japan" and an "Eastern Front" series wouldn't it be just more of the samething?  Lets all take the next step forward.

FS2K4 with guns. Get rid of that dumb CFS3 engine and restore compatability with other M$ sims. It MUST run on a wider selection of machines also and not just super high end systems. It needs to be historicaly accurate also.
Be great to move into the Korean conflict but M$ need to include all the major players, Canada, Australia and the UK as well as the US and China/North Korea.

Hawker said it all.  Chuck the whole thing and start over at CFS 2 or FS 2004.  A wider selection of nations besides the Big Four.  Step outside WWII and go to Korea.  I believe Korea is the best choice because of the prevelance of both props and jets.  Not only that, you could fight against both.

CFS4 shall be the end of the Pacific war. They ended CFS2 in 1943 for a reason. ;)

If it ends in the Pacific I wanna fly 47s for the USAAF.  I got sick of flyin' for Navy in CFS2.  They had the P-38, but no campaign for it.  It was so sad. :(

This is my opinion:

Microsoft's next Combat Flight Simulator should have be compatible with FS2002 and FS2004.  It should have the ability to support gun turrents (like CFS3), so that bombers can be produced realisticly.  The new sim should also have guided weapons, and the ability to make your own.  You should have the following opinions when flying:

-Free Flight
-Quick Combat
-Single Missions
-Campaign (like CFS2)
-Multiplayer

The program should also include a mission builder and new SDKs.  With all that, anything is possible, from modern day combat to WWI.  ;)

I want another game with the CFS3 engine. I want a campaign which follows history and doesn't pay attention to how well I fly.

The CFS3 engine was a bold step towards the future. It has great potential but needs refineing. As with all new things there are teething problems to start with. And when they are ironed out, we shall have a great game.

People just don't realise that.

Also the guided weapons idea is a bad one. The multiplayer community will never accept it.  :P

Not in the slightest. I think CFS3, although with its problems, is a great game with lots of potential.

The idea of Guided Weapons could be a great addition to the CFS series!

I wouldn't mind seeing a Korean era or Vietnam era CFS 4!

How about some missions in a Photo Recon Mustang with the side camera setup... It could rock!!!

Well, that's my 2 cents worth...

I like the idea of photo recon missions being added to the regular bomb/dogfight scenarios.  It gets pretty boring doing the same thing after a while.  Plus with the recon missions you would get in there down and dirty with the bad guys... :D
