Good evening!

Yesterday i bought a Soundblaster Live! 5.1 soundcard. It works very fine but i have a little problem in CFS2:

When i switch to external view, the engine sounds very strange, like windows hangs up and you had a soundfile running before.........i hope u know what i mean ;D

What can i do???

P.S.: Does anybody know, if there exists other soundfiles for the engine sound??? The original are very poor.....

Mmmm, nice system  :)

Ok, check out http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/d ... elcome.asp to get the latest drivers. It seems the the drivers supplied with the Value and 5.1 cards don't work too well with Win 2K and XP

:) I had to check. Ok, there a couple of other things we can try. I'm going to explain everything as if you have never worked with them before simply because I'm not sure how much you've worked with these things. Forgive me if I seem to be insulting your intelligence. It's not intended.

Firstly, if your MB has onboard sound, make sure it's disabled in the 'System' section of the control panel.

Secondly, from control panel, open the 'sounds and multimedia' section, click the 'Audio' tab and click the 'Advanced' button in the 'Sound Playback' section. In the 'Advanced Audio Properties' window, Click the 'Performance' tab. There are two sliders you can play with. Try setting the 'Hardware Acceleration' one to 'None' and then test.

That's about as much as I can suggest, except to add that you should try posting in the hardware forum ( http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/ ... oard=hardw ). Those guys seem to know a hell of a lot more than I do :) Good luck!
