A6 with weapons?

Hagar and all, Perhaps you can assist or point me in the direction anyway for an updated A6 with perhaps a dp for mk82's or similar with respect to the VN conflict. I have two albeit earlier models d/l from here fs5 and 98 but they 'leech' a bit and vary considerably in the air. I read your comments on Vietnam Air War from Justflight and appreciate that it is not perhaps worth it. (other reviews bear that out). It's difficult finding good a/c for this conflict but I have modified a few and need a weapon ready A6 for the hangar. Pardon my Intrusion etc etc, heh heh! Bertie ::)

I'd like to help but the only one I know of is the Alpha sim Intruder in Vietnam Air War, the planes arn't that bad its just that CFS2 wasn't designed for jets and guided weapons.

To: CrazyCraig, My thanks anyway Crazy. All the other jets I use in cfs2 are working great and I am going to work learning about dp's and see what I can do with this fiery old bird, thanks again :(

we are working on an A-6 of Rick Sasala which we are attempting to convert to cfs2....with weapons of course but the model already has fixed weapons....Rick has provided me with the gmax file to remove the weapons but as I am a novice it is taking time to get the thing to spit out a properly modified mdl. file...as soon as it works we will be posting it on our website at   http://home.iprimus.com.au/mandcsilver/

Guided weapons were used in vietnam, but not such a big way. (GPS wasnt invented yet, another method that used a laser was used in bombing) Even in the first Gulf War guided weapons were not used as much as un-guided weapons (correct me if im wrong, im forgeting all this stuff) Although guided bombs were used in nam, un-guided ones were used much more. I myself would be glad to see the intruder in CFS2, even if the weapons arent guided.

PS: There is an Fs2000 and Fs2002 A6 here at Simviation, but i dont know if it will work in CFS2.

To Mick and Oz, Cheers guys thanks for feeding the thread for the A6. Mick I really hope you can get this mdl up for it and look forward to the result. Oz yes concur on that wep info and just interesting enough brings in the topic of the 'B' A6 with the box installed. This is probably a little glamourised in the movie "Flight of the Intruder" but info says they did have a guidance system in this model but it was probably a rare bird or kept under wraps as the upcoming and future Prowler full of gizmo's etc. I haven't done enough searching of relative A6 sites so probably Mick has more info, or a handy Jane's book. I am using the Vietnam mesh with op areas selected and those valleys are just begging for an A6 set of missions. Btw: What are those 500lb umbrella bombs designated as? Bertie :)

Hey Oz! I found the bomb, they are called 'snake-eyes' and are softfall (obviously for low level) with a four sail wing attachment. This would be a great weapon to build for cfs2 especially for visuals. I think the A6 carried about 10 of varying weights and fuses and the 'B' A/C had some defences with 'Shrike' missiles which could be guided against samsites via the box of tricks/radar, the bombs though were not guided as you said. With the bombs the sails opened after exiting the a/c which I imagine also started the fuse. In the movie the 'B' a/c missions were denoted as "Ironhand." :D

Cool bertie. Now all you need is a good pic, and a good designer to model the 'snake eye'. Good luck man
