No WWII combat plane in the game cruses @ 100% throttle.

i did neglect to state that it was with the "enable auto mixture". i was giving the specs for full throttle. i know that range is drastically increased simply by pulling throttle back to even 80%, let alone the many other variables available, but i didnt want to go through all that again. the whales, dolphins, and other points of interest were severely lacking from the the waters near the island i took off from, and i got bored of seeing the water ;)

Not sure about the cfs2 aircraft but recips big and small often do cruise at full throttle at high altitudes, even when supercharged. But it is not max power by any means and you are not overloading the engine. Since the air is so thin up there you can't attain full engine power in those conditions.

There is the opposite condition, very cold at sea level, where you can't use full throttle on take off because you can indeed overload the engine.

I don't know if these things get simulated well. It has been a long time since I flew a real big recip but it was done mostly with an eye on the manifold pressure gauge.

Max range altitude for these aircraft was generally at or below 25,000ft, give or take

I have tested it and for missions made after my little modifcation (NOT FOR THE PURESTS OUT THERE) but when you go into the MISC. DATA part of the .DP file and change the cruise speed (which i believe is in KPH) all new missions built in MB will have that speed as default.
What do I do you ask? I struggle! Then destroy! Then try to put back together what I just broke on accident.....
