MY advice (but who am I??): buy a good second-hand Win7 desk- or laptop with enough RAM (at least 16GB), an acceptable NVidia card and a separate 500GB SSD and a separate (or built-in) CD/DVD-player. You can then go on playing all CFS2's for the rest of your life without any trouble and also make use of your (I suppose excellent) monitor (you can easily switch between computers). Saves you an immense lot of annoyance instead of trying to run CFS2 on WinX, WinXI, WinXII and all Windows that will come in the future and don't like "old" games and sims.

If you have overclocked your CPU or GPU, try reverting them to their default clock speeds. Overclocking can sometimes lead to instability and crashes, especially with older games.
