Spam/commercials!

Just wondering!
If a spammer or advertiser post some very nice text in his/her thread, even if the post has been reported, it seems like it will stand :!:
Thinking of this one

Those webcam & youtube questions etc that have been lately showing up in Music & Arts: Seems to me they're a form of spam or adverts of some kind. They're innocent sounding questions, they might even be legit questions, and they may be harmless, but I'm wondering.

Any ideas here? If you notice, the posts are by one-time posters, they have strange looking names, and each registered around 03.23-25 or so. Some of you have answered their questions, but I don't see any replies by the "newbie" to those answers.

But the bigger point is this: We who surf the Net need to be aware of anything out of the ordinary, esp with our own private emails. It's a good habit to be in at all times, everywhere.
"Walking the fine line between paranoia and perception is wise", so sayeth a wise man to me once.

I would suggest, and it's just a respectful suggestion, that we not respond to these posts. Doing so only encourages whoever, and it might be the same person, to continue.

Newbies here are easily recognized, we can tell the difference.

I agree with you a long way on this one, Apex!

Mostly, i too can see, that "person" is not interested in any answers from us. The interest lies elsewhere...
BUT a plain and innocent looking question must not stop us from answering a newbie. We were also new once.

Not many will give feedbacks (i certently miss that a lot of times, and others in here do too)...maybe it has something to do with todays "fast speed"! Thinking of others just "blows in the wind!

I just answered one of them. But it was a legitimate question so I figure the replies might just help someone else that is reading the post. The post wasn't removed by moderators, but I suspect the link was.

I agree, Steve, and i dont think there were any links in those 2 (zz) posts in Music, Arts.........
I was wondering about the names tho, looking alike, and if there were anything looking strange, i would never answer but just make a report.

Just had a quick look at this one
