I had the same question/problem last summer(?).
What happened is that you downloaded a program with a few "enhancements" added to the package.
Unfortunately you can get these "enhancements" even from many, otherwise, reputable websites.
When you run the installer you'll often see a check box the says something like Full install: [X] Highly recommended.
Below that may be a box that says [ ] Advanced.
I've even seen the second box grayed out to give you the impression that you
CAN NOT select it.
90% of the time, if you go with
THEIR recommended install, you'll end up with unwanted "enhancements".
Try Pete's suggestion first, and if that doesn't work -Go to
Control -
Programs and Features.
Sort the programs by date - you may have to select this according to your operating system.
Once sorted by date look for anything that you did not intend to install.
You probably don't have to uninstall the program that you want, just the parts that were added on to the package.
