Report button

Postby JoBee » Mon Apr 02, 2012 3:46 pm

Is it possible to add a "report post" function to the forums?

With other forum software there is the ability to click on a button to report a post containing objectionable content to a moderator.

This post is a perfect example- http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb25/Ya ... 2684/17#17

thanks,
Joe

You could just message the Poster or a mod & ask them to delete it.

But adding a Report Button would just cause trouble.

The poster or a mod may not find a post objectionable while the person who reported it might & then there would just be argument with objectionable content which is what the button is supposed to stop.

That's the whole point of the report button.

It is anonymous to the poster and lets the moderator decide what stay and what goes.

I already read this and deleted the post. I also PM'd the poster with the reason. Post deleted.

As Andy says - just mention it here & we'll look into it. We don't have 'report' as it would be really quite pathetic as there would be so many 'babies crying to their mommies' .. situation ...  :)

That post was definitely beyond what is acceptable for a forum used by a large age range. Thanks
