If you go to fs-freeware.net and a few other not as good as simviation
sites you will find nor-cals repaired files being claimed by others . I guess if they are good enough to try to claim then maybe we are doing a ok job. I guess we will make some more so these people
can post some more lol .

We're so pro-freeware you'd be amazed. And we always have the greatest respect for developers. Just keep those superb files comin' so we can all enjoy them (if you want to see how much we do just browse the screenshot forums) ;) ;) ;)

I'll go find them pirates and rough them up a little, I hate freeware stealing pirates! (the ones that post links for downloads where you need a account that always gets kicked off cause of nodes get to live... until I get highspeed)

I'm just curious ... isn't there a way to stop these "Pirates" from stealing your work? Is there a "legal" action that can be taken or something like that? I am not at all familiar with Freeware-Piracy laws, etc.

Well its not stealing because it is freeware , but its the claim to have
done the work of others that is whats wrong . Such as when I do work on a file I say that I have updated / added or so on to the work of the designer , not claiming anything that I did not do

Are you going to resume this here ? >:( >:( >:(

http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 1211132306

What your doing its Irrespectful, Do your own planes dude ,and stop messing with others work, claiming that you are fixing ,this is not obligation we make the planes in the way we want , you change a bit and that's a piracy pal...

Nor-Cal Prop Club has been fixing aircraft files that have been designed by others for quit awile now ,and has received a little
negitive feed back for doing so.

As Long you never did to decompile an mdl , which obviously would be illegal and in infringement  to the copyright of the designers ..its not too bad.

                             COPY RIGHTS

Most of the aircraft that do have one are expired and as a not just because you claim " copy right " doesn't mean squat unless you
purchase one and go through the pending process , at which
99.99% of all freeware have not done. Even then most of these
older files have expired copy rights which no longer protect them.

>:( Why did you delete the rest of your posts ? Did you regret of the thing you said there ? fortuanly I post enough here ,to let people know you and your site does , where is that post that you claim that we never ask Boeing ,Cessna etc, to use their names and that gives you the right to do the same with our Job ? in the way you refer to us the designers in red color ,like if you have something against us , ...

[glow=yellow,2,300]RESPECT PAYWARE & FREEWARE DESIGNERS[/glow]
and learn how do your own stuffs..

Please don't make me laugh ,Simviation has earn this size ,first for the years in this business
and second I have never Upload any of my airplanes there in that site  fs-freeware.net  and they have all  them  illegally there ,without asking me ,
Simviation is Big because its has a good reputation FAR away from Piracy ,that's is something you can't understand and and By The Way That Guy who reply you this:
As Brett and Alex say - freeware copyright is about respect and asking permission. Follow the golden rule of asking permission and no one will go far wrong.

There can be good reasons why designers don't want their creations modified - often because they get the complaints or they themselves may be working on a significant improvement and  naturally don't want a version of their old work released without their knowledge.

It's all about communication and respect.  8-)

Its the Webmaster and Owner of this site and by reading what he said in that post ,is easy to UNDERSTAND WHY this site Is bigger ...

Either way, and however well intentioned, when the end product goes directly against the wishes of a developer, when the original author has asked for anyone wishing to develop their files to ask their permission to release them, there is the problem. Sadly certain recent "releases" have fallen smack bang into the middle of that category.

Thing like this help push the most capable freeware designers towards the commercial market, where at least they know their work will be protected commercially (although of course some pirates will still insist on making it generally available...)
