So, I had a profile picture uploaded to my photobucket account and had the link pointing here then signed in and found it had been changed as "linking images slows the forums down".

What is different to do doing that and then uploading on the simv server and linking to that??

I asume that I have to upload it to the simv server then link to that (like I just read someone has to do for their signature??)

Well Tom as the server has to call an image from another server it takes time and this effects the time it takes for any thread you've posted in to load.
I seem to recall that yours was some 200Kb linked image, for an avatar the limit is 10Kb hence why it was removed as evening using broadband it took quite a while.
Please upload all images to the SimV server and within guidelines to ensure they are within limits to ensure a smoother forum for all users ;)

Sorry ozzy, I do have to be honest and thought it was under 10k, but then it's very likely I wasn't paying much attention!!

I shall upload it to the simv server.

Thanks for the reply mate!!
