Just curious as to why you find it necessary to subject people to all the embedded code on your site. Pretty damned annoying. Pop-ups and the like are the next best thing to sexually transmitted diseases. You might wanna' consider not spreading 'em around so much.

The pop ups pay for the site. If you pay a subscription then you won't get the pop ups.

You should only get one per session .......... unless you keep closing them.  ;)

Or use Firefox with the Adblock extenstion and you wont see anything I didn't even know SimV had ads  ;D
And for more web surfing pleasure as Flashblock and you can go to the most annoying sites without hassle, great for dial up not having to wait 3+ minutes for a page to load crap.

One pop under only - on main menu page only- 1 per session.

If you get more than that you've picked something up elsewhere.

Your subject line certainly would not describe our 1 single pop under per session & may indicate you have picked up a trojan. (got teenagers?  ;))

(& remember blocking our ads - taking & giving nothing - is a vote for simviation's demise - of course you are free to do that. Luckily few do)

As someone who has been on the net almost from square one, I certainly understand the economics involved and the nessesity of ads to pay for bandwith,etc.

There is a fine line however that sites must walk if they are not going to offend some users.
Pop-up ads that are particulary anoying are those with blaring sound.
The present one for "TV Bytes" also raises a red flag for my firewall that its wants to use IE as a server and I feel this crosses the line.

Like I said, I fully realize the nessesity for ads and often click on them out of curiosity.
However, ads that are blatenly anoying will never get any favorable attention fom me.
Some people even refuse to visit a site with questionable ads.

I have to say some of the ads here have proved useful! They've helped me find a supplier of tools to aid in the building of Binky 8-)

Couldn't agree more. I go right out of my way to remove 'annoying' ads as soon as I am made aware of them.
Our aim is that our advertising should NEVER interfere with site enjoyment.

(We never knowingly carry audible ads. If the do creep in they are removed as a matter of urgency)
However - you will also know that firewalls tend to be paranoid --- I shall look into this 'Red Flag' ad- I am not aware of it. I'll look at it now.

If you can give me some greater detail about that ad it would help. We use an agency that delivers ads from more than 300 advertisers. If you could tell me what it is for I can look in the relevant category. Thanks

We're talking about the site - not the forums. You cannot use the main site with Opera.  ;)
