Links

Have a question, when is a link not a link. Often we see posts (and I have done it myself) with a "link" to another site, e.g., a news article for instance or an aviation museum. Is that not technically a link to another site and then against the rules. What is the definition of a link?

Confused, from Germany.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

I think you're confusing links with posting images. There are various very good reasons for not posting images hosted on other websites in topics on this forum. This is completely different to posting links to the individual images or a link to the news article in your example that might have any number of images on it. Opening a link in a new window has no effect on the Simviation server or this forum whatsoever. If the site is down or offline for any reason you will get the Error 404 message.
