NOw this site is my favorite, i only go to the others if i have a need to. but thereis one issue thats been bugging me from day one.

the whole "textures only" idea. now it's a nice idea, saving space and all, but more than 2/3 of the time FS does not want to recognize the paints. I can't seem to figure out whats wrong, and i've double checked the numbers every time.

but thats not what this is about, I can't stand that the "textures only" is blended in with the "civil aircraft" menu. cause all I see is "textures only" this, and "textures only" that. with an actual aircraft here and there.

if there was a way to separate the two, then put links to the aircaft for the textures...

..that would be hell...disregard that

but what im trying to say is that i've triped many a time into geting an aircaft only to find out it was the textures.

Having an aircraft as "textures only" does not only save space, it saves bandwidth as well. this means it costs pete less money and is also quicker to download.

many of the textures only repaints also have a link to the original aircraft in their description.

also some aircraft designers prohibit the uploading of the complete aircraft with a new repaint for copyright reasons.

it is up to the developers of the repaints to include the extra files needed to make the complete aircraft or to include the location of the original aircraft in the FILE ID

it would however be handy to have a seperate repaints section but this would end up big enough for a whole subsection of the site (like the Combat FS Section) because they would have to be sorted as FS2004 Civil Repaints, FS2004 Military Repaints etc.

and remember - when the link to the original aircraft is in there, it's because PETE added it in - not the repainter!
