Limit on the size of PM text messages...?

Whey-oop... ...!

I recently tried to post a Sim V text message via Personal Message (PM) and got the following; "Message too long. Reduce the size and re-post".... ...!

This particular text message was 12k in size.

What is the limit on the text message size...?
...and why...?

This happens with regular posting too. Like when you try and copy and paste something, but the same thing comes up.

The funny thing is....
You can quite happily PM a picture file up to 100k in size....
...but not an individual 12k text file...
...strange...?

It has a limit on the max length of post.

I'll up it -- but there has to be a limit otherwise people will abuse it. If your post needs more you can split it like some people do.

Pain in the backside sometimes I know but less of a pain than  what could otherwise happen .....  ;)

This particular file was a modification of an existing Panel Notepad text file...12k in size.... ...!

Any idea what the Max recommended size of the PM Text file is, so that we can re-arrange/reduce/modify/whatever/ it ourselves before attempting to post it...?

I've doubled the limit but you may find it still won't fit ..

If it's a specific configuration file - like a text panel.cfg, etc, you may want to upload it first and pop the link in the PM.

The limit in yaBB script is not in "size" but number of characters (inlcuding spaces)
