Hi, I guess this question is for a mod...


I know we are not allowed to link to images stored in the SimV database and thus use SimV as a kind of storage locker.

But:

If we post in a forum on another site, can we put a link in that forum to a THREAD in the SimV screenshot forums?

That is, without being kicked in the goolies and thrown out ?

Just wondering...as I'd like to do it but thought I'd ask first.

Linking to images - no. Linking to threads - ok ...

Krigl, if you put a link in another forum - when people click on it it opens a new window and then it is the same as if they came here anyway like you now. If you SHOW the image on the forum you steal from Pete because the cost goes to him in sending out that image and getting it to appear on people's screens. It is called hotlinking and is downright bandwidth theft. .

However, in your specific case, we'll just let you link to the thread, and kick you in the goolies anyway...

Thanks for the replies, thought it was a dumb question but you never know...and don't worry, I understand the difference between threads and pics and have no intention of linking to pics only and using this site as an image dump. That's what #@^&%'s forums are for
