search suggestion

Postby TacitBlue » Tue Nov 23, 2004 3:05 am

I think it would be great to be able to search within a specific area of downloads, for instance, if I wanted to search only for FS9 planes, then I could select that option from a dropdown menu. Or if I wanted scenery for a specific place, then I could select wich version of FS I need it for, and so on.

I think you're being a tad picky there, Hybrid... ::) Most results are grouped by age, so if you wanted 04, they'd be on top ;)

Pete explained in a previous thread on this subject that a selective search feature, like they have on some other FS sites, is not possible with the way the site is set up. The search feature we have now is a great improvement on the original one.

It also helps if you type in 'fs2004 whatever' .... but also bare in mind a LOT of stuff is intercompatible so if you were selective on a database you would often get zero results on a fs2004 search even thou an aircraft was perfectly compatible with it .... for example ...

The search facility is always under scrutiny with improvements in mind :)
