@Pete

while this is the first time that I have actually been on the new forums, I like the new look.

I do not know if you have looked into this yet, but I have just noticed that members with a post count of around 500 that are "God Member" level.. while others that have more than 6000 are at the same level.

I personally think the forums need a complete new look. It's pretty much the same thing we've had for years with some things moved around and the color changed. I know things are still being worked on, but the YaBB default theme is pretty unattractive.

I agree. It's being worked on. In fact I'm currently looking into having the whole thing converted into a php based forum but that is turning out to be a MAJOR task because PHP boards use a database whereas Yabb is simple text files.

But one way or another the current look will be improved. I think it's drab.

(overall forums could probably use a good pruning.. if there are more than 10 pages to a category, I personally would say delete anything past the 10th page to cut down on server resources having to remember so much so that there is more room to add new stuff)

Problem is - which posts do you remove? Just cutting back on the number of pages will often mean the most useful information is deleted and a load of irrelevant replies are left.

.... You know those 1st replies that say 'sorry I don't know' ..... & on page 14 there is the best response from one of our very valuable contributors who rarely visits ...

I frankly still need some time to get used to the new forum layout but when I do It will still be Cool. Thanks Pete for your awesome work and doing all this hard stuff :)

Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.
