download speed

Postby spirit » Wed Nov 23, 2005 1:37 am

Hi,

just a newbie at your nice website and I like all the nice addons you offer to download. I made a registration to get the best speed, but after two days of experience I'm not satisfied with the real download speed. :(

Does anybody has an idea what's going on and how I can increase the speed? I'm using getright tool now, but it makes no difference in speed. I'm using an ADSL connection with 512 KB and the download speed is now less than 10 KB.   :-/

Many thanks for any idea to solve my problem.

This should be a lot higher.  Anyone on the free site should get a lot better than that. Typical members with broadband will get 120-500KBPS depending on their connection & network.

Are you logging in ?

Try a tracert - go to Start - Run (Or start All Programs - Accessories - Command Prompt) & type in the black box 'tracert www.simviation.com'

A reboot can also help - both your ADSL modem or router & your PC.

There are many possible factors but please get back if you have no joy. We are a genuinely user orientated site.

Hi Pete,

thanks for the quick response.  :)

After doing some checks with "ping" to your website and also others I guess now, that the problem is not from your server. Today I'm not at my PC, but maybe in the evening or tomorrow I'll check again and contact my provider for the connection I'm using.

The "ping" showed me slow response even timeout failures with many different websites. The route tracing showed me also some leeks. Well, I hope, that I can solve this problem soon.

Sorry, that I thought it should be your failure.  :'(

Thanks again.
