Server security upgrades

Postby pete » Tue Apr 25, 2017 11:24 am

We are installing some of the latest internet security upgrades to the server in the next day or 2.

Hopefully there will be no disruption but if you experience any difficulty on accessing the site -

1. Please try clearing your browser cache.
.. or try again soon. Any problems (if they arise) will be resolved quickly.

Thank you,

Pete

Work is now done and all performing well - without a hitch.

Previously users could see a browser message when signing into either the main site or forums that details entered may not be secure - even though the details were perfectly safe.

However now, in accordance with latest internet security advice, we have upgraded the system to 'https' throughout the site.

This measure is also supposed to streamline pages so they should be even faster to navigate.

I have been informed that Internet Explorer users are seeing 'Only secure content is displayed'

This will be fixed shortly.
