:-/ how can I upload images now??

I think the old link still works. Upload Images

yes...but there is no longer a link at the top of each page ;)

I'm sure that will be fixed in time. Meanwhile, add this to your bookmarks.  http://www.simviation.com/yabbupload.html

Elementary my dear Watson. :P :)

it is...if your bookmarks dont delete themselves every other day :)

Never had that problem but there's plenty of ways over it. You could always paste the URL into a text file.

Looking good so far, only other thing is, the 'all' option is missing for me next to threads with more than 1 page.

Other than that, liking the new colouring etc. Just not the YaBB2.2 logo.  ;)

Hope everything will come to sort itself out in time.

All the best,
Alex

This is my first post in the new forum software setup, and i'd firstly like to congratulate Pete and his team! on how smoothly this went. I realise there are teething problems still, but isnt there always with any new software setup (Windows is case in point :P) I think the new layout looks much more modern and sofisticated. Well done pete, looking good so far

Ps - one minor point that, for some weird reason, annoys me, is the fact that the reply box for your post is not aligned with the other formating tools, because the character limit is there instead. Its very minor, but i instantly noticed when i posted this.

best Regards,

...just thought of something... ::)...!

In the new Version, are we still limited in the amount of time after which we can no longer modify/correct/add to our Postings...?

That was a problem with the previous version as well.

The version before that there was no limit, as I recall...;)...!

I always like to be able to correct my obvious/silly mistakes when I spot them!... :-[...!

Paul.... 8-)...!

P.S. I like the new "Check all" option...followed by "Remove" PM's...Saves all that tedious checking of zillions of Boxes to delete them!... ;)...!

Good point Paul. It's easy enough to find out. Look for one of your old posts & see if you can modify it. 8-)

I just tried it & it seems they fixed it. ;)

PS. The limit wasn't a bad idea actually. Stopped people changing their comments after causing an argument, making them appear innocent. I've seen plenty of that in my time. >:(

Could just be me, but the new forum takes a CONSIDERABLE amount of time to load now, even after it's cached.

certain pages like member profiles are taking a while to load I've found but nothing major.

The only problem I have found, when you try to send multiple pm's the system blocks it saying that too many are being sent and it considers it as spam.

Remember this is all new, it's only been up and running for 24 hours at most...

Bear with it, I'm sure it'll sort itself out within a few days.

Exactly .... most of the above points are either simply not done yet or can be easily fixed.

You have to remember I can't be full time at this. It is a priority & I do it whenever I can.

Within a few days things should be running at least as well as the old forum. If you still have niggles please don't sit back & accept them - let me /us  know & I'll see if it can be done.

I don't think there is anything mentioned that can't be fixed.

All in time - Some things can take time - I had to fix a bug today by uploading a blank text file to the messages folder - it took over 1 hour just to do that because the folder is so big & then it has to refresh & then refresh again after permissions are set. Luckily it worked - sometimes you do that just to see if it will work ..  ;)

It still amazes me how a single web-site can be such an "alive" and comfortable place. These little adjustment periods remind us what's involved.

Thanks, Pete.. and the Mods, too   :)

I must say I am NOT fond of this new V2.2 forum software.

I find it impossible to tell the difference between Topics and threads that
I have read by looking at the headings. There is no difference in contrast
as far as I can tell, unlike the old version where the followed "links"
were grey vs the blue of the unread Topics or threads. It wasn't a great
difference but enough that I could easily skim the headings and see which
ones I had been reading.

Since I read sevaeral forums daily I don't remember which threads, in
particular, that I have posted in or am reading. I depend on the forum
software to do that for me and this version doesn't.

I changed my prefernce in my profile options to use the "old style"
Version 2.1 format but I can't detect that any change took effect or that
there is any difference.

As to the "New" forum software, I didn't find any problems with the old
software....and if adding content or additional options, WHY must the
designers also try to "pretty things up" , which seems to be what
happened with the contrast issue....

I really love the new forums; however there is one thing I have a little niggle with; the thread listings look a bit too 'crowded' to me - their layout makes them feel a bit claustrophobic. Is there a way to increase the depth of the box the thread title appears in to give it a bit more 'room to breathe'?

Nonetheless... wow!! :o

It's looking good. Where's that thumbs up smiley when you want it? Never mind. ;)

I just noticed that half of my signature is missing. Don't know what it was previously but the limit now seems to be 200 characters.
