Hey Pete

With the size of the file libraries here, and then the forums, everyone's uploaded pics, etc...I'm curious.  What the heck kinda server(s) are you running?  They've gotta be monsters!

Thanks!

Pete got a special deal on eBay on a lot of about 3,000 IBM PCjrs a few years back, and I recently sent him thre 32K memory side-packs.  He said it's because he likes the infrared "chiclet" keyboard and the cliky sound they make.

He actually brought a Colossus from the British government and SimV currently runs from that. :)

Around 50GB of files. About 280MB forums messages. About
3.5GB forum photos (this is due for another 'over 1 year delete')

The bandwidth used to be a killer but I'm no longer being threatened with switch off thanks to the bandwidth controls we  have in place following membership. (Some folk used to download everything whether or not they really wanted it - it's called bandwidth abuse!)

3 servers. Can't remember specs but the main site server is something like 2GB Ram, 120GB HD, P4 250 & running on a Unix clone OS makes things 1000x more efficient than windows for web serving. 100MBPS dedicated connection.
