the new main page is very innovative; you have anything that you could want from anysite

It's actually not a "Main Page" it's designed to function as the default startup page for when you start your browser. :)

For the real SimV addict it provides many internal links and a few custom outside ones as well.

I am glad you like it though. :)

I like the new Index page, the CFS one I'm not too sure about, it gives the impression that these are the only Sqns available for people, be better off having a link with Sqn lists and what they do I think, as newbies could easily misunderstand, or think these are the only officially sanctioned Sqns. Looks quite nice though.

Mark ;)

I see your point Ozzy...maybe have to add something (prominent) about how the list is only partial and based on a link exchange.

Andrew, what bugs you about the Sqdn lists?

I don't like the new CFS page, its too overwhelming.
I like the new front page, but I think if I wanted the sports news id search just for that.

I like both of the pages, but i say 2 things about the Portal: 1) I don't like the sports news bit and
2) Could you brighten the background a bit?

Whoa! That blue lettering on the green back ground is a clash of colour that has potential to put some people into Epileptic seizure. If pulses the optic nerve. Be aware

Research has also shown that it is best to look at things in shades of grey...:-)

Dunno

I probably like most people NEVER use the opening page. I just link straight to the forum from my own home page which is one of my own sites.

So the opening page just is no big deal - people probably only ever see it once in their lifetime. ;)

:)

Another coupla thing that've occurred to me - much higher priority I think

1. Clicking on internal links DOESN'T in my view need the new item to always open in a new browser window. This is THE MOST IRRITATING feature about Simv in my view. Before you know what's happened you can easily have 6 or 7 browser windows open. Good news - there is such a thing as a Back button if you want to go back where to you started from! And it's just as easy (easier?) as closing all the new windows that have opened up during your current session! ;)

The only exception needs to be the forums when links provided by posters should open new browser windows - but this is EXACTLY how things work now.

2. The 'Search' function leaves a bit to be desired IMHO but I guess it's down to how the Simv pages are constructed which on the whole are pretty good ie more entries per page than most other sites. When I do a search I would prefer to see the actual found item rather than a text reference to it.
