Most forums I know only have like, 10... Kudos to everyone for keeping this site up and running!  ;)

There are too many forums here. I thought the FAQ forums were going to be removed though...

Well, for my bit, I like the way things are, some forums busy, some not, I think we've got a good mix.

I noticed that both FAQ forums were removed yesterday. I originally suggested this to tidy things up a bit. It was a good idea that was never used properly & didn't work out as intended. Pity, but no point in keeping something that doesn't work. IMHO

maybe we should have taken the posts from the forum and placed them in the faq section on the website, so when a newbie asks. . .just give em the link

.... that was the idea ... & what I posted at the top of the forum - but it virtually never happened ... the idea is still something that would have saved a lot of time & provided an easy & ongoing resource for those FAQ - & there are a lot of FAQ ... but no-one ever took notice & moved the topics there!  ::)

For the idea to work properly the topics would be locked after moving them to a FAQ section. Otherwise anyone could come along, add their own comments & mess things up. This actually happened on more than one occasion. Ideally it would be impossible for ordinary forum members to post new topics there or reply to existing ones. Otherwise it's not practical. IMHO

PS. I did start adding common FAQ for all current M$ sims to my Lair. Some of these were copied direct from my mailbox or this forum with a little editing to tidy them up. I gave up after a while as nobody, especially newbies, seems to realise it's there. The same goes for the FAQ forums.
