New search in beta

New search is being adapted for this site.
Of course it cannot match the exact results you would get from a database search but we don't use a database as most users will know. The best a non database search can throw out is page results - not throw up the exact files you were looking for.
I'd appreciate feedback - it still requires tweeking. Each tweek takes over 30 minutes as a 12 MB keyword index has to be rebuilt each time.

Looks good Pete. I don't really like how it has the description following the link-makes the page a little too long for my tastes. But, it deffinately does a better job with the search it seems so thats all I really care about.

Great upgrade! Seems to work pretty good for me, and having the info after the file was pretty useful too!

Pete Thanks for all the hard work, the new search engine is great. I know I am new here, but I remember the old S.E. from my cfs days, and this is so much better.

Hi Pete, I tried the search today, I didn't know until then that it had been updated. I had to find a J3 Cub for Fs2002 / my brother (Part time simmer! lol). All i would like to see is a sim specific search. I quite like Avsim's search - it's a pity 'bout the results.
I'm sure your doing all you can for us, please keep it up

Hi Dan. You can narrow down the search criteria yourself. It works in the same way as any search engine apart from being specific to this site.
I typed < fs2002 piper cub > in the box. This is what showed up.
