Dip in the downloads?

Postby Wing Nut » Mon Aug 04, 2003 9:23 am

I'm kind of curious if there has been a dip in the number of downloads since the realease of FS 2004.  I know that I have spent a lot of time sorting out my FS 2002, getting rid of the FSDS v1 planes (since they won't work anyway) and flying the new sim.  I also transferred some of the stock planes from 2002.  I think I may have downloaded maybe ten planes and installed three of them.

Bit too early to tell - if there is - it will usually be small - if at all noticeable .....  ;)

Could even be the opposite - I know our bandwidth is running at an all time high...   :-[  ::)

I've noticed a dip in the uploads at both here and Avsim. Most of the new addons comming out are just repaints.

I think that's the way it has been with every version of both FS and CFS.  Repaints are easier to do so they appear in volume.  Stand alone aircraft take time to research, develop, and test out.  Plus there are very few actual builders compared to the number of repainters.  There will be an overlap of planes for both FS2002 and FS2004 also.  Eventually people will go to all FS2004 AC and FS2002 will drop.  How many people make planes for FS2000 nowadays?
