New viewing mode

I'm just wondering, would it be possible to make like an optional mode the user could choose that would let the user pick if they see full quality images or have them reduced to below 155kb?
If we could do that, people could post more and higher quality, better looking images, but if a few people have a slow computer, it could automatically be reduced to below 155kb so it doesn't slow them down.
That way, the people with better computers can see better images and people with slower computers won't be slowed down because they're able to just check a box in options or something.

Would that be possible?

It would be, but it would have to have a costom image compresser unless you could get permission to use someone else's. So not impossible, just difficult
Edit: well, the hardest part would be lowering the quality if all the pictures... So given the forum code, I might be able to rig this up...   :)
