lol, but editing encompasses so many differing skills and talents that the same people won't be winning all the time. The judges usually are open to all sorts of original ideas which means that usually you get a fair playing field.
In terms of the integrity, it wasnt a problem when it was done last time. It is virtually impossible (although some have come close) to edit a screenshot that looks EXACTLY like a photo. Usually if the judges have a query about the shot's origins, they can request the original screenshot and possibly any extras.
In fact, a possible suggestion: that all shots submitted must have a copy of the original screenshot also in the thread, and also must state HOW they made the shot (programs, tools used etc)? Obviously this saves time for the judges, and it also allows other people to see actually where the edit has come from. Editing is something you keep learning as you go along, and this would really help the newer competitors to keep up with the veterans.
And lastly, I'm all for it!
