MODERATORS THIS IS FOR YOU:

PLEASE BEAR WITH ME:

I have been involve with aviation and flying for over thirty years..I am still learning.
I have limited computer skills...I know how to use Outlook Express, Internet Explorer and Msn Chat, I know how to program a Flight Director on a real aircraft, fill in navigation logs on FS98, FS2002 AND FS2004 PLUS access Simviation.
This is the FIRST FORUM I have belonged to and the enthusiasm and comradship is FANTASTIC.
HOWEVER....and of course there is always a HOWEVER..
WHEN you mention or talk about moving files from here to there, painting aircraft, going to other sites and downloading, and all the other stuff you folks do without even batting an eye.....I and I am pretty sure a lot of other NEWBIES, WANT TO BE NEWBIES, GUESTS AND MAYBE SOME HARDCORE MEMBERS HAVEN'T GOT A CLUE WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT.

I see your point, but that's why the specific forums were made.

In the Aircraft Design forum, for example, there are several "sticky" subjects that describe the very basics of setting up gmax, what programs to use to build models, etc.

The Simviation help pages also are a trove of information for the newcomer - everything from how to set up folders, basic repainting, etc.

THere are far too many questions that are asked to be able to give a comphrehensive "in case of this, do this"  especially when there are so many different way of doing something...

Yeah I can see your point Felix.
Guess it's time to find the old reading glasses and put them on my pointy little head.
After all....if I do hit the wrong key....I haven't got far to fall :).

Cheers......Doug
