Security settings

Postby olefin » Thu Feb 26, 2004 11:32 am

Am I the only one that gets the following IE message that says....

Your current Security Settings prohibit ActiveX controls on this page

I get the message on every page of this forum?

My IE security is set at Medium and I never have this problem at any other site on the internet?

Hi Olefin. I've been a regular user of this forum since it was set up. I use IE6 for browsing on Medium security settings. I've never had a problem browsing this forum or the main site. I can't explain why you should be any different. ::)

Your settings for ActiveX controls can be found by going to the dropdown menus at the top of your browser page:

Goto "Tools"
Select "Internet Options"
Select "Security"
Select "Custom Level"

You will now see what your ActiveX settings are.

Of course, only change what you are comfortable with.

I have mine set to prompt before DL'ing controls and not to DL unsigned stuff. Having been prompted to DL stuff and seeing what it is...I then allow those controls to run. :)

Anything unsigned I ingore.

Thanks, SilverFox441.  But I already knew all of that.

I have already tried all different ActiveX settings and  I have also inserted this site in my safe sites.

So strange why here and not others? Seems it most be my browser for no one else has the problem.
