Multiplayer FAQ's

Postby EVVFCX » Sun Oct 26, 2014 4:19 pm

Hi Guys,

with having a problem at work (yes work ;) ) getting fsx multiplayer to work (now think we know why - versions of fsx clash) I thought I'd have a read
of the faq's as having tried it at home, laptop with win7 64bit and other my pc with xp 32 maybe it would help when we try again but every link I tried on the Multiplayer FAQ failed to connect. Pete?

regards

Steve

Not flown online since fs98 - yes I know, I need slapping but I do radio control as well.

Hi Steve

It's because the FAQ are on our old yabb forums and I have turned them off for now as we were getting a large spam attack on them.

I'll turn them back on soon --- thanks for patience  (& apols for those spammers --- I don't normall believe in torture but sometimes I wonder ... :violence-chainsaw: :angelic-flying:  :icon-lol: :icon-lol: :icon-lol: )

Hi Pete,

understood, now about that torture process - I've been married 3 times so can help :)

On the fsx clash problem, mine is fully installed fsx gold, my friends at work is just the fsx itself, acceleration not installed yet, ports opened at my end and on the old modem we were using to link together, could see session hosted by him but could not connect, but he couldn't see it if I hosted it tho he could see my pc on the network.

regards

Steve... ;) ....

I'll tell you what we do for our Multiplayer Sessions.

Arrange a time and Airfield.

We use the many FS Host Servers, and select a quiet one from the list, so that we don't annoy anyone.
Finding the various FS Host Servers list via "FS Host Spy".
We both/all connect FSX to the chosen Server's IP address via "FS Host Client".
Press "Enter" to open the Chat Window!
...and away we go!...

All done using this...>>> http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/

Mostly trouble-free!

Paul... G-BPLF... ...!

P.S.. We used to have our own Sim V Server at one time, but its been out of action for a number of years now: 178.63.253.134
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.
