Doesn't spring from simviation. We would never run such ads. Suggest you run a good anti virus -- malwarebytes -- and maybe more.

I didn't have videos opening, but some time back I did have a problem with ads unrelated to SimViation on this site.

It turns out that I hadn't carefully checked out a download. When I installed it the MF'n software had added a program to my computer to "help" me find useful ads.

People like that, and the spammers give me violent thoughts.

Alright I got the dumb Ads to stop, turned out it was something to do with IE's Tracking protection and ads thru Google.

Once I switched it back on to NOT allow tracking protection, the ads quit and the site is a lot speedier.

Google, I dunno' about them anymore???????

anyways , never mind.

What about those other ads??? The Citgo & "Let us prove it"?

I've never seen anything like that either.

I am getting these on a couple of websites I visit, mainly news. But they are nothing to do with the site I am viewing. For example, I read a UK online newspaper and I get adverts like these running in German. I have checked my settings and run the appropriate software to check for things that should not be on my computer but I still get them. Any ideas anyone???

OK ads are location aimed - so if you are in LA or Rome -- you will see ads in your language, etc. (or so it's supposed to be....)

I have removed that middle on the front page as it seems it is playing some audio to some people. Apologies.

The ads have 'no audio ads' clicked on all so this should not have happened.

We have always run no pop ups, no audio, no invasive ads.

I will look into it and try to fix but meanwhile the ad code has been completely removed.

OK, well 1st off, Thanks Pete !!!

Now I'm no web tech guru, by any means, I'm probably the last person you'd want to ask, about web site anything, I'm stupid when it comes to that stuff,, no my fort'a !

But, I Had earlier turned off tracking protection, in I.E, Explorer,, and that's when I noticed the ads starting popping up and that dumb video playing at the bottom of the page.

I thought maybe the moderators were just testing something out and we were on at the same time or something ???

you never know,,,,,,

then I thought what if the site got hacked somehow ????

the should know this, so that's why I sent up the bulletin,,,,

once PETE responded, Ummm I thought if its not him,, then maybe its that setting I changed ???

so,, I went back into I.E.'s Explorer tools setting and put it back, and it cleared the problem up, no more goofy ads or videos playing.

with I.E. its that little GEAR looking thingy up in the top right corner ( SEE PHOTO)

and then the Sub Menu's that follow - (SEE PHOTO).

Dunno' but its what worked for me anyway,,, maybe I'm wrong I dunno ???

but it worked anyway, thankfully.

Thanks again Pete !!! Happy Thanksgiving to you , too !!!

I should of mentioned, that TRACKING PROTECTION is "ON", in my case, the above shows its ON,, and you'd click the area that says , turn it OFF, if you want it Off.

turning it ON, made the Ad gremlins go away somehow ???
