Greg, I have just tried with no problem. Can you give me an example please? But if I can do it the problem is not with the site or server.
Thanks

wow.. ok...I am on this page:
http://www.simviation.com/simviation/?t ... 60&page=31And I can't download anything. I click a link, say the 727, and I get to here:
http://www.simviation.com/simviation/do ... hp?ID=4027From there, I click on the Download button, and I get this address:
ftp://www.simviation.com/dynamic/1FSX_T ... L_B727.zipwhich shows me this:
Failed to Connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at
www.simviation.com.
I can't even do a tracert... something is odd. firewall is off. rebooted. cleaned the cache. I am lost...about to attack the hosts file...however, I just looked at it yesterday to find a problem and it is good.... hmmmm

Ok.... It was indeed the hosts file. I use TweakMaster to speed up the DNS lookups. I had forgotten to update it...thus, the stored DNS IP's were no longer valid.
If anyone else is having problems, make sure you check out your hosts file. However, do NOT mess with it if you don't know what you are doing..

Hi again. I am guessing you have resolved you problem? 'Hosts file' ? Not sure what you mean as we are the hosts of these files.
However again I can connect to the above mentioned files no problem.
In the non members area any kind of download manager will cause problems as user connections to files are limited to 2.

Actually, got the files last night, but again can't seem to get anything. Surely this is something on my side.
Host file is the file on your local computer (in windows) that allows/disallows IP address's to be connected to and to connect to your computer. Has nothing to do with your 'hosting' the files.

Ok...tried again for last few hours. Have done all on my site you can possibly imagine, including having a networking guru take a look at my stuff... he can't find a reason that I can't d/l from here again. Here and avsim are problems. No other sites have issues.. Not saying it is you all, but he couldn't get any files from his computer in Wisconsin either...just tried a few and timed out on all of them.

I just tried on two different desktops and a laptop, the first two running Xp one with IE7 and the other with firefox, and the laptop running vista with IE8, and no problems, both with member and nonmember accounts.

Ok..problem is fixed.. on here and avsim.
For anyone having this problem...please, check this:
If you are running PeerGuardian, it will block both sites because of the ads they show. They are in the built in database as bad sites, don't ever allow.
So, you will have to do a ping or tracerte while you see the peerguardian window. This will show you the BAD site IP. When you see the IP that is blocked, right click on it, and choose allow forever. This will fix the problem.
Hope this will help others that may have this problem and are running Peerguardian 2.
