My Firewall is warning me at SimV

Postby congo » Mon Aug 16, 2004 11:44 pm

Why is my firewall continuously asking me for server permissions when access these forums lately? I deny the server access and the forums then load as normal.

This only seems to be happening at SimV.

Which firewall are you using? I've had no problems whatsoever.

My firewall (Zonealarm) warns me when I'm off line & doing nothing - all the time - it could be several 100 warnings if I left the machine on overnight & not connected. I have set it to keep it's warnings to itself  ::)

I think this 'warning' was probably from an ad - or it could be several things - but you can be sure we never knowingly have anything on this site that contains spyware or trojans or the like.

Well, I deleted all my cookies, internet files etc, and the prob has ceased, so, all's well that ends well, thx all.

I have my Zonealarm set to run silently as well, but it will request server permissions if a program tries to act as a server, which is what was happening.
