RED ALERT!...Forum Problems 10/20 3:35 EST

I just went to a thread that supposedly had a new posting in it.  On the Forum main menu page it indicated that XXXXXX had last posted a message there.  I had gotten an email notification of this posting too.

When I went into the thread...... that last post wasn't there at all.

I then tried to post a reply into the thread.  It appeared to go as normal in the posting screen...... no error message.

But MY posting was not there either!  But on the main forums page..... I was listed as having made the last posting!!!

This was the "FS2004" section.

I THOUGHT in the last couple of days that the notification system of "new" postings on the main forum page seemed to be "wrong"....... that it would tell me there was a "new" posting since my last visit .... and there wasn't one.  But this is the first time it is definitive for me.

In light of the recent crash....... this is possibly a "warning" of more developing problems.  Hope I am not the bringer of bad news and this is something I am doing wrong.

best,

..................john

Just went back to the fs2004 foruim and tried to see my own post....... my name and time were there on the overall forum sections listings and on the thread listing ...... but the post was not there.

I then tried putting the same post up again.

The time on the various "last posting" listings changed....... but the post was STILL not actually in the thread.

Just confirming my last observation.

best,

....................john

PS:  These postings seem to have gotten through OK.

This seems pretty complex. I'll try to monitor it & report back.

One probelm here is that we are dealing  with so many variables that even the forum creators do not know what happens under certain conditions using a wide variety of operating systems, FTP programs, etc.

Thanks for reporting this John. It's much appreciated.

If everyone reported problems my life would be 10 times easier.

Yes, I have experienced the exact some problems with that thread.

Glad to at least hear it isn`t on my end. :)
