slow d/l speeds for reg. member . .

I just registered as a paid member @ simV, and I can't get download speeds over 70Kbps.

I have a 12Mbps DSL connection; just to be sure, I went to other sites and could download files at 1.3Mbps.

The simV banner advertised 1Mbps download speeds; what's the deal with my slow downloads?

Things are a bit slower sometimes during peak times (sunday evening is a peak time) - & we do more downloads than almost any other site on most files.

However I'm on a DSL and getting the speed shown.

'up to' -- '* Dependant on traffic & connection.' =- both quotes from the membership page.

i'm trying another file now; downloading @ 150KBps. still dreadfully slow, but an improvement.

i'll check it again during the week.

if you're not a paying member, you are limited to 30KBps; it says this clearly on the d/l windows that pops up.



Anyhow, tried again today and was d/l'ing @ 400KBps; that's very acceptible. thanks.
