Postby Jean Loup » Sat Apr 01, 2017 11:58 am

First thing into my mind when viewing "THE BATTLE OF BRITAiN" was:
-Too bad Spain did not have enaugh Mercedes engines to build a Spitfire, with a thinner belly front & squared off wing tips...

First step, Hispano Suiza HS 12Z89,V12 , model HA 1.109 "Tripala" (three bladed propeller)
Problems manufacturing the engine led to RR Merlins, also for CASA 1.111 (He 111)

The Ha 1.112 M1L, with the Merlin an four bladed propeller was faster than the Me 109G2 used as basis for manufacture Me109 in Spain or a Spit Mk IX, this is testimonial because the jet age had arrived. The actual airworthy Buchons that I know have three bladed propellers.
Armament was 2 Hispano 20 mm cannons in wings, two machine guns over the engine and 8 Oerlikon rockets.

I'm on holidays and answering with a tablet I can't manage the information properly. ¡Saludos amigo!
