How to embed a youtube video



1. Copy the web address in youtube




2. Click the 'Youtube' button in the forum






3. Remove the 's' from the 'https://www.youtube.com/....'


4. Paste into the [YouTube]paste text here (without the 's')[/YouTube]



5. It works


[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNv0fI-qzP8[/youtube]

NOT ANY MORE

After all this time I suspect that it isn't going to happen.

The IMBED version LINK by clicking on the YOU TUBE Button Icon at the top,,,,, and ,,,,, deleting the "S" out of the LINK :

EXAMPLE : [youtube] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNd8cD4JxPA [/youtube]

NOTICE there is NO "S" just after the http

ya' have to Delete the "S" after the http,,,,,,,

After Deleting the "S" after the http,,,, the video player will appear ,, unless users have their internet security settings checked to NOT display videos in web pages !!!!!!

This feature didn't work for me after the last forum update. I couldn't see the embedded video until OAM came up with the answer.
Browsers vary but there is a security feature to "Block Insecure Content". This is how it looks on the Opera browser.

It can be disabled for specific pages. I suspect the reason is that http addresses are classed as insecure.

The site and forums were changed to https - but due to the age of the forums, posts within the forums could not be co-ordinated and hense embedded videos are not working. The 'insecure content' warning is pretty irrelevant as if you look around the internet you will see this all over, including in some multi billion $ websites.
The 1st step is to have the forums updated to the latest version, and take it from there to find the solution to youtube videos showing - if that isn't already the solution.

What I do ... ....

I just copy the full address from youtube and paste it in my Sim V Post for anyone interested to click on....

...and it takes up no room on the Forum page thread compared to a full embedded video.

Right on, doctor Fozzer!! If one leaves the S in https:// one can see the link & go YouTube page to watch. On the other hand, if you take the S out, EVERYTHiNG BECOMES A BiG BLANK EMPTY SPACE for the rest of us.



BUT THiS iS A MONOPOLiCAL WAR: Google got sanctioned by the Europen Comunity and is taking revenge on all european conections. Here in México, we have that war between Telmex (optical modem provider monopoly for México, tyed with Spain) and Google Blogger. Unfortunately, the story of my life (in Castilian Language) is in my Bloggers, begining in 1919 with my mother story. I can see all my drafts & configure, even the preview is available. But I can't see the actual blog "sorry, the DNS is not found". I had to install a SLOW as phone conection TOR browser, it's the only one that circumvents this war, but has to be prompted three or four times before conecting with no excuses. Even that does not show embeded videos in this fórum.



At least I can use this TOR Browser while Telmex & Google stop blaming each other & solve this situation. This started on July 26th.

Well See,,, I'm still using Windows 7 Home edition - with Internet Explorer 11 so that may be why I don't have all the issues.

All those other fancy wancy schmazy browsers are to complicated for my Dumb Ass

¿WATER? see what water does to roads & bridges in storms, don't drink that!! MEZCAL (or Tequila) is the medicine: after a couple good ones, nobody minds filling the glass properly
