End of an Era - Good Bye Martin Mars

The iconic Martin Mars Water Bombers - from my hometown will not fly this summer in the British Columbia region putting out forest fires....the B.C. government has (stupidly elected) to not renew their contract.

Growing up around these behemoths was intriguing and exciting, the roar of their engines would send all the towns kids running for their doors to catch a glimpse - more often than not they saved lives, and billions of dollars in timber.

I wanted to add to this topic to show just how impressive this plane is, and to top it off - My hometown has now had several visits by the Holland America' Lines' Amsterdam Cruise Ships... Impressive and good for the economy. To the Coulson Group who owns the plane - Please know that we support your efforts - always have always will even those of us who are no longer in the vicinity. To the Holland America Cruise company - Thank-you Your efforts are also very much appreciated - our city is rich in natural beauty and resources... please keep coming.
