Goodly morning all...

They are all wonderful videos but I think the video posted by Larry "Patchz" says it all...

You really have to listen to these aviators at the end of the video and I think they all sum it up by saying:

-experience...experience...experience
-practice...practice...practice
-know your aeroplane

The one aviator also made a great comment when he said:
"I have 27,000 hrs of flying and I could not do what I do now when I had 500 hrs of flying"
...how true...

I can't even imagine 27,000 hours of flight time. That is equivalent to a little over nine years at eight hours a day, 365 days a year.

Like me with more than five decades plus of flying time he has that spread over a goodly number of years.

One must also remember when we were young there were no maximum number of hours per month or limits on crew days...

The more you flew the more you made...

What really makes me laugh and gets me mad also is the fact many World War Two four engine bomber pilots were in their late teens or early twenties.
Imagine, flying one of those aircraft, under combat load and combat conditions.

Now the insurance companies and Transport Canada, probably the FAA in your country also would have two shits if a teenager got out of flying a B17 or Lancaster as a Captain or any other four engine heavy aircraft.

It seems it is okay in wartime but they need all these age regulations/medical/etc. and hours of operation for civilian aviators during peacetime to make more money for the government which I sure would like to know what they do with....
