Looked like fun...

...just a shame to remember that so may lives were/are lost on all sides, in a useless conflict, due to one persons "annoyance" with the Head of State of another persons Country... ::)...!

A real professional bit of Photo-editing there, Serg...;)...!

Thanks Fozz!!!  Took me a week of working it, sorting pics, adn geting the timing with the music right.  All that for a simple music vid, and to think people are actually pros at this stuff   :o

I dunno what to say. It looks like a job with it's very rewarding moments and terrifying hazards. It was nice to watch though... Not biased, just "as it is" from one persons' perspective  :)

May I ask what your role is? Obviously not the finer details, but in general, what you do?

Thanks everybody for the warm comments :)

Our role out there was route clearance (looking for IED's and destroying them so convoys can pass safely) and route repair (fixin the craters if they blew before we got to them)  We also built/repaired a few schools while we were there and installed electricity in countless homes and businesses.  Just adding lights to a building made some of these people the happiest I have ever seen.

Me personally I work in communications, providing email and internet services, both secure and unsecure, and helping with the radio operators whenever they need it, especially on convoys.  I could write up a book on the details of all the work involved, but you get the gist haha.  I also had several side jobs, including making the "tour video" which is what I posted.

Iraq was wierd.  It is amazingly beautiful, and at the same time just heinous looking.  It's like all you can see is brown buildings, dirt, sand, and the summer heat is atrocious...but then you get to the areas with the mosques and the palaces and they are just gorgeous!  And you can't beat the sunsets there.  The thunderstorms they get are unreal to watch from across the desert, and the sandstorms are simply breath taking (both from a distance and up close lol)
