Yeap ,Ceres asteroid(15 Km) could cause something like this,Remember the earth is the biggest rock (a solid)in the solar system,and it has a powerful gravitational field, But there are details not showed here:
The surface of the earth would firts lift the surface of where is going to strike and when the asteroids reach 50.000Km.
I mean the problems will began before even get to strike us...yes, this could happend..
No in our life time neither our sons and our grandsons, all the trayectorys of these hudge object are well known,it wont happend,for at least for the next 10.000 years..

Amazed by this impressing video I decide to make a small animation my self a quick one to gave the idea how should the surface of the earth would lift..

I don't know why I have to wait until the owner of this video have to aproved first ,That video make me think how would be,from the 4 forces that rules the universe ,Gravitation is the most powerfull ,the problems would begin Before the impact

I'm sorry, but an asteroid with a diameter of 15km isn't pulling the surface of the Earth off when it is 50,000km away... There is simply not enough mass in the Earth to distort solid matter through gravity alone.

Also, why would the Earth's surface lift - the Earth is (relatively) infinitely more massive than a rock with a diameter of 15km. That is like saying a pebble within 5 meters of your body will cause your skin to deform. The pebble has a mass of 10 grams, at most. Your body has a mass of 65-85 kilograms.

Not that a collision with a meteor with a diameter of 15km is anything to laugh about. It would almost certainly end civilization as we know it. The collision would unleash many orders of magnitude more energy than the largest nuclear bomb ever made.

The Earth Surface 15Km is the only Solid part of a hudge Magma semiliquid and liquid Compare to a solid Iron asteroid as Ceres For Example , Im not laghing This wont happend in our history ,and Yes our life is more in danger with a threading of some countries with nuclear devices
