Mass Effect 3

Has anyone bought this game yet? I tried the demo and it looks quite engaging. Anyone have opinions on whether the game is worth it?

Well due to the meme effect I can infer that the ending sucks...   ;D

My brother is playing it now on his PS3. From what I saw of the begining it looks pretty good. I didn't play the other 2 so I dunno. I'm actually looking forward to the new Assassin's Creed III in June, Just got the Game Informer. Taking place during the Revolutionary war. Screenies are very tantilizing 8-)

Haven't got to the ending yet (which I heard some bad things about), but so far, I am greatly enjoying the game.  Some of the scenes are much more moving than the previous games.

Multiplayer is ridiculously addictive as well.

Well I ended up getting it too, and am loving it so far. I'm a little apprehensive about the ending however - I really hope it doesn't ruin the game!

So far it has improved on the previous game in almost every way :)

Well having gone a bit further along now (not up to the ending yet) I am finding the galactic readiness system quite annoying. To get your invasion force up to strength there is a choice between A: playing the multiplayer excessively (which for me I haven't found particularly engaging) or B: doing heaps of side quests which are rather lame. Mostly consisting of finding random artifacts for equally random people.

My final complaint is the whole system of your military strength as it's not very intuitive and requires a fair bit of extra knowledge about the game in order to work properly.

I am not writing the game off, I have been enjoying the main parts quite a lot but there are these little annoyances too...

Yeah wasn't a big fan of the whole random artifacts for random people either (they did the exact same thing in Dragon Age 2!

I heard it was written by the lead writer and director without the rest of the writers reviewing the work.

sorry what meant is that a 13 year old child sent them a letter saying that the ending of the 3rd game should have a kid involved. the lead writers to ran with this idea. the source is the official making of ME3 app on itunes.

Ah I see.  Well, that's silly.  In any case, it was announced today that Bioware is releasing a DLC to hopefully explain a few things sometime this summer.  It'll be free.  I don't think they will get rid of the starchild, but might be something to look into.
Cheers,
