Hi John
Could you explain in a little more detail on how this is done. Is it a fairly simple process? If you can get XPlane looking this good I'm really thinking about getting it. These really look great.

Posted: Tue Feb 03, 2009 4:51 amYou use a freeware program called fs2xplane....basically you run the scenery package thru the program and thats it....Some scenery doesnt convert properly but for the most part it works....

Well I jumped off the fence today and bought X-Plane9. Got the last copy that Frys Electronics had for $39.99. I hear that it's going back up to the old price.

Posted: Tue Feb 03, 2009 8:48 pmIm interested to see what you think, my initial advice would be to look at it with an open mind the graphical interface is way different then FSX . Once you get your controls setup right that is when you will see the beauty of the sim. After that you will be stuck with the weather engine 
, personally I can look past it. A new release is coming soon 9.30, hopefully they made more graphic enhancements.
Another concern of mine was the lack of really nice aircraft in the freeware department, there is a good amount but it doesnt compare to MSFS. Im learning Blender at the moment and I want to start to design...thats a long way off though....
