Absolutely Clip! It's first rate in my book. It's as real as it gets as far as sub sims go. I have SH III as well which still gets much praise. Both games are downloadable from their site. Check em out!

Clipper, if or when you do get Silent Hunter 3, make sure that you get GWX (Grey Wolves eXpansion). i dont have it but ive read that it is really good, but only if you want immersion. it is a HUGE download though. also join the community at Subsim.com. the site is a great place to get mods of all kinds, and the members are very helpful. i have had many problems with both of these sims solved from the members at Subsim.
