Jagged shadows

Postby Russell Irwin » Tue Dec 10, 2013 12:46 am

How do I get rid of jagged shadows on my engine nacelles like the one below?

My anti-aliasing is (after many requests from y'all) finally turned off, but this problem persists.

Thanks!

How about turning anti aliasing on with your graphics card utility?

AFAIK, I don't have a graphics card utility. I'm using the integrated card (because I'm so utterly concerned with performance) instead of Nvidia or some other third-party card.

Most integrated graphics are made by the major players.

So if it's a matter of not knowing just who makes the integrated graphics system for your system, try this solution. Afterwards you can download the graphics card utility that you need.

HWMonitor is useful for a lot of things. And in my case, this is one of the few programs that gets my video card number exactly right.

You're kidding, Blaunarwal, right?

This is not a joke. My current system was purchased for school use, and I managed to eke out just enough money at the end of the month to get a factory RAM upgrade. I just can't afford a fancy 3.5 GHz desktop with 8GB RAM and whatever fancy graphics card NVidia has out these days.

All is not lost. You still may be able to do something to improve your graphics.

Do you have a laptop? or desktop? One way or another you do have some kind of graphics system.

Run that program and see what you have.

I am actually surprised FSX runs on that system at all honestly.
That must be a damn good laptop?
Can you tell me the specs on your laptop ?
I am guessing it has to be intel i5 or i7 because so many of my friends have absolutely no luck using anything less than those two CPUs with integrated Gfx.

{Edited to add } can you tell me the make and model of your system and I will look up what it has inside and let me know if it is stock or you added anything and I will try my best to come up with a solution for your issue ... thanks !
Gigabyte X79 Chip set Mobo
Intel-i7 4820K CPU/Liquid cooled
Single GTX Titan 6gig GPU/ extreme air cooled
16 gig/1600 MHz quad channel DDR3
1 T/B -Raid-0 array,Risking it all for every ounce of performance until I go with SSD's

I have jagged shadows, Vista Home Premium on HP Pavilion Entertainment PC & FS 2004 configured as Golden Wings 3. This is an example:

Just look at the Junkers shadow margin, the Tante Ju outline & the grass runway number.

I tried this in Nvidia graphic card:

And the recomended CPUiD HW Monitor says:
