I found a rather good rendering program which could be useful for those wanting to create their own landscapes for composites.

Download Terragen Classic ....... it is free, with limited functionality, for personal use. I'm still trying to get to grips with Terragen2 so I cant recommend it yet.

This could be incredibly useful for FS composite images.

I used it when I tried to make a scenery for the condor soaring sim - really a fantastic program.

just downloaded it, looks useful indeed!! came up with this!

I'm messing with Terragen 2 and I cant get the rendering window resolution any greater than 640X480.. any ideas??  :-?

If you are interested in making Canyons with different rock layers, I can recommend the SO Pack plugin for Terragen and Stratagen.

The SO plugin allows you to overlay custom textures (bitmaps) with terragen (can also be used to include rock, grass, etc. textures).

Stratagen generates color gradients and layers that can be overlaid via the SO plugin.
