Increase the Display Resolution from FS Settings.

[quote]Hi all,
Does anybody know how I can make my screenshots biggger? At present they're all coming out at 800 x 600 pixels. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

No point in resizing images upwards as that would seriously affect the quality. The Display Resolution controls the size of the original screenshot so increase it from FS Settings as I mentioned earlier. This will give you bigger screenshots. You can then resize them downwards (make them smaller) for posting here if necessary with your favourite graphics editor.

PS. The Display Resolution will be limited by your graphics card & monitor size. I would suggest using the native resolution of your monitor, whatever that might be.

The maximum native resolution of my Monitor is 1280 X 1024 X 32, but I always have to re-size the grabbed picture downwards to 900 (or less) Pixels wide, to reduce the necessity of sideways scrolling to view the complete Thread containing the screen shots.

On my Firefox Browser, any screen shot of 1024 (or wider) Pixels always requires sideways scrolling to view the complete page, including any Text.

Paul...I hate sideways scrolling... ;D...!

"...does my Bum Screen Shot look big in this?..."..... ::)....

[quote]I think I agree with you Paul: I too hate sideways scrolling, and, when I did change the resolution, a massive black border appeared around the menus.
Thanks,

Until everyone in the world is issued the exact same monitor, what ever size makes you happy is the best size. ;)

I have two 19" wide screen monitors, one set to normal 1024x768 , and the other set to wide screen so I don't have to scroll. ;)

Non wide screen CRT monitors are going the way of the dodo bird pretty quick.

I haven't even seen one in a few years, so I keep forgetting that some people still own them. :D ( kind of like the old 3.5" diskette slot!  ;D )

Waiting patiently for my new 22" monitors! Then, nothing will be too big.  ;D ;)

I think you're confusing Desktop resolution with the Direct 3D display resolution in FS. If you run FS in Full Screen mode it will fill the screen whatever the size of your monitor & whichever resolution you select from FS Display settings.

I can't run FS in any resolution other than 1024x768, if I try, nothing looks right, and I can't read anything. :(

My monitors & GC support much higher resolutions, but FS9 & FSX just don't seem to like it. :-?

Speedbird:  When FS is running, is it in a window? if so, press Alt + Enter at the same time, and see if that makes things better.  ;)

I have a 19" wide-screen LCD monitor. The native resolution is 1440 x 900 which is what I use for the Desktop & FS display resolution. Works fine for me.

My old 17" standard CRT monitor was set at 1024 x 768 for both. I don't see the point of using a standard display resolution on a wide-screen monitor.

That's what mine are, but as I said, When I set it to that in FS, I can't read any gauges. :-[
