Jumping on the Bandwagon: Rip Me...

If you guys don't mind, since I've been wanting this to happen, and Shane brought it back. I know you guys don't want everyone doing this at once, but I haven't had this opportunity yet...so hopefully this won't start an avalanche of Rip posts.

Here's one of my simpler unreleased shots....if you could just rip it to shreds as violently as possible, I'm sure we could all benefit.

Well, you aren't making this an easy one. ;D ;)

The only thing that I can spot, and this may just be me, but I try to resize or crop my shots to where the sliding bar at the bottom is not needed to see the whole shot. I'm not sure if monitor resolution affects this or not, but I feel that sometimes the dramatic impact of a shot can be ruined if you have to scroll to see all of it.

And on that note, if you gotta have a scrolling shot, I would have the entire aircraft or the main focus of the shot in the part that is visible before the scroll.

Other than that, what I see is a classic
' signature SeanTK sunrise silhouette shot', (say that 5 times fast  ;D )

Simple, beautiful 8-)

Thanks, I'll have to keep that in mind for those users without wide screens. It is difficult for me to now judge how far across a shot would be before needing to scroll on non-wide screens since I obtained this new monitor, but I'll figure it out!

So it is a monitor thing?

I'm running dual 22" wide screens, set at 1280x1024,

what should it be to view a 1024 shot without the need to scroll?

I have a single 22'' wide, with the following resolution:
1680 X 1050.

Ok here it goes.....I like silhouettes....and the sky color is fantastic....

A fe things I think could of been done better

1. I like the gear going up but it lacks purpose without a runway showing
2. There should be more focus on the ground scenery, its too boring and the 1 autogen building looks horrible..
3. I would of liked to see a few more cloud layers, the layers you do have look 1 dimensional try a high stratus, low stratus...some thunder clouds and some cumulus...also make sure to blend the ground into the sky...if you use FSUIPC you can reduce visibility to achieve that effect
4. finally Im a sucker for dramatic angles, this adds the final touch a more aggressive angle would of been a nice final touch

;)

- Plane takes up too much space, would be nice if it was zoomed out a little.

- Plane is too dark, some sunlight on that thing would be nice.

- The sun is too low, should be right between the cloud layer and the ground for lighting.

- The ground looks very boring, a with a single autogen building, it looks pretty bad. Water would look better, and would have a nice reflection as well.

With that said, let's be friends again ;D

Okay, here are my (newbie) comments (on the senior member's shot) ;):
- the plane could be a little smaller
- the plane is very centered in the shot. Setting it slightly off center (using trackIR or walking cam) would make the shot more interesting
- the horizon line is very straight - which makes the mood of the shot very "quiet" (fits the dusk theme). If you wanted to make the shot more dynamic, you could go for a slightly diagonal horizon.
- I would make the plane either darker (full silhouette) or lighter to have more details.

Apart from this, excellent shot

Thanks for the responses. I posted this shot on purpose since I know it's not one of my best, in hopes that new members can benefit.

Don't like the hard horizon line, it should be soft. Admittedly, it is difficult to get rid of...
