I'm not certain whether these are edited or not. Look at the clouds in #2. Look very real.

But that's beside the point; these shots are just incredible!! You cartainly have done the good old spit justice; although I personally would've liked to see a shot showing the top of the wings.

Just  :o :o

I prefer the second: the composition is better, the plane is not centered (the fuselage aligned with the horizon line in the third...), the sky and clouds is very realistic, as well as the landscape, and the lighting on the white strips give a special touch, something like a mystical feeling which is what the spit is: mystic

the third is not as strong, the position of the plane on the horizon line and the 50-50 sky-ground organisation. plus the lighting effect is not so effective.

the first is nice, in real life, the sun should prevent you from seeing the instrument so clearly. that's why this one doesn't work as well as the other. apart from that the landscape/sky/clouds/haze is great. everything outside the cockpit is good, but the inside doens't match.

great work anyway!

Vince "Le Brelon" surfaces after many months awol! Great to see an old friend back... :)

The pics are stunning. The only thing I can add is the second and third are too similar to justify adding the third in the set. Otherwise some fine, dramatic sreenshots, Clouds are varied and realistic, overall coloring sets a sultry "vintage mood", scenery is clean and balanced. Nice work and hopefully Slotback has a lot more of this fine work to share.. :)

Slotback, would be nioce of you could describe some of the techniques used here to create these..

The top of the wings are painted green so I would not get such dramatic contrast and bloom like effect with the top of the wing. :)I'll try though. :)

Thanks, I'll improve on that. :)

All are edited.

I took off and angled the aircrafts wings so they would bounce sunlight into the Camera while still providing a nice mountainal view, then took the picture. Opened it in Photoshop, sharpened it, then overdid a light yellow Diffuse Glow. Then went, edit>Fade Diffuse Glow and moved the sliders back till I found a nice level (You can also change blending type and lower Opacy if you want then repeat). Then I went Image>Adjustments>Match colour, then turned up Luminance and Colour intensity till it looked good.

If it's to bright then mess with levels.

Oh, and thanks for all constructive comments.

:)

The clouds will look better in the screenshots because of the editting, but I am using Active Sky 6 Graphics.

Texture: 008 Puffy Mod B
Stratus: Stratus 12
Wispy: Wispy 23
Cumulus: Cumulus 30

Thanks.
